Kim Mandara is Executive Vice President of Communications and Business Development at S+C and managing director of the firm’s New York office.
Kim’s experience in strategic communications spans sports, entertainment, media, hospitality, and global brands. She has deep experience in creative storytelling, executive communications, media relations, crisis communications, media training, and corporate events.
Prior to S+C, Kim was Vice President and Global Head of Communications and Events for Legends, a sports, entertainment, and premium experiences company co-founded by the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. She led all communications, public relations, and events functions including strategic messaging, media relations, executive communications, internal communications, thought leadership, corporate events, and crisis management. In addition to her corporate responsibilities, she also managed communications efforts for Legends’ global client portfolio, representing world-class sports properties, entertainment organizations, attractions, venues, and more.
Kim previously spent 13 years at the National Basketball Association (NBA), where she led communications for the Global Partnerships group, working on a wide-variety of announcements, activations, storytelling, and events for blue-chip brands such as Nike, PepsiCo, Verizon, Google, American Express, and Anheuser-Busch InBev. She also led communications for the league’s Global Strategy and Innovation group that identifies and executes long-term growth projects, in addition to overseeing the league’s corporate communication practice. During her tenure with the NBA, she worked on business initiatives for the NBA, WNBA, NBA G-League, NBA 2K League, and USA Basketball, including domestic and international tentpole events such as NBA All-Star, NBA Finals, NBA Draft, and NBA Global Games, along with a variety of fan and corporate events. Earlier in her career, Kim worked in corporate communications at Viacom (now Paramount) and for FleishmanHillard, a global PR and digital marketing agency.
Kim has a B.A. in Communications and Political Science from Boston College.
